Marquette’s 143rd Commencement ceremony will be held Saturday, May 11, at Fiserv Forum, located at 1111 Vel R. Phillips Ave., Milwaukee.
Friday, May 10
5 p.m. — President’s Reception
Saturday, May 11
9 a.m. — Baccalaureate Mass at the Al McGuire Center
1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. — Undergraduate Commencement ceremony at Fiserv Forum
5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. — Graduate Commencement ceremony at Fiserv Forum

Ticketing
Guest tickets will again be required for the undergraduate Commencement ceremony. Each undergraduate student who will be attending the ceremony may invite up to six guests, and each guest will require an electronic ticket to enter Fiserv Forum. Graduating students themselves will not need a ticket.
Starting February 8, undergraduate seniors who are graduating must RSVP for Commencement by Friday, April 26. Students must RSVP via the link they received in their Marquette email account from University Special Events. For detailed information visit the Undergraduate Ticketing Process page.
There will be no ticketing requirement nor a limit on guests for the Graduate School, Graduate School of Management and Health Sciences professional ceremony because of the size of those classes.
Guest ticketing process for undergraduate commencement: what you need to know
Guest tickets for undergraduate Commencement have begun to upload into students’ My Marquette Gameday App for those who have RSVP’d and requested up to six guest tickets. Students who have RSVP’d should check their My Marquette Gameday App accounts to confirm receipt.
How to access / transfer tickets for undergraduate commencement
For entry into the 2024 undergraduate Commencement ceremony, guests will need to provide a digital ticket. For easy access to digital tickets, direct guests to download the Ticketmaster app. For more information on how to utilize digital ticketing, please reference this Marquette Digital Ticketing video.
Reminder: please transfer tickets to your guests prior to the day of Commencement. Once a ticket is transferred, the guest is the valid ticketholder.

Fiserv Forum does not accept tickets printed in PDF format. All ticket holders arriving with a PDF ticket will be asked to use their digital ticket to gain entry.
Baccalaureate Mass
Graduating students are invited to attend the Baccalaureate Mass in academic regalia and to join in a procession at the start of mass. Baccalaureate Mass will be held on Saturday, May 11, at 9 a.m. at the Al McGuire Center on campus.
All students are invited to participate in the mass as ushers, musicians, singers, and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. Interested students can volunteer. ADA seating will be available in the upper level (“bowl section”) of The Al McGuire Center only. Please be advised that no food or drink will be available in The Al McGuire center before or during the mass.
Reception Celebrating the Class of 2024
A reception celebrating the Class of 2024 will be held on Friday, May 10, at 5 p.m., on Ray and Kay Eckstein Common (the outdoor gathering space east of the Alumni Memorial Union.) The reception will be hosted by President Michael R. Lovell and the Marquette University Jesuit Community.
Ceremony Livestreaming
Both the undergraduate and graduate Commencement ceremonies will also be livestreamed. The Undergraduate Commencement ceremony lasts 2.5 hours and the Graduate Commencement ceremony lasts 1.5 hours.
Separate Ceremonies
In keeping with tradition, the School of Dentistry, Law School and College of Health Sciences’ professional programs (Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Occupational Therapy and Master of Physician Assistant Studies) will hold separate ceremonies and will not be part of the Fiserv Forum ceremonies; details will be announced later. There will be no other college-specific ceremonies.
Details on deans’ receptions (for colleges hosting receptions) will be communicated by individual colleges at a later date.
Marquette University Student Government will continue to plan and fund any farewell events for the undergraduate graduating class.
Decision to Switch Dates
“Shifting the undergraduate and Graduate School Commencement date in this way brings Marquette into alignment with other local universities and many schools within the Jesuit network that do not have a week between the end of finals and Commencement,” Provost Kimo Ah Yun said. “With Commencement occurring immediately after exams, graduating students are able to start their post-graduation plans faster, whether that’s beginning full-time employment, volunteer service or other post-degree plans.”
The following representative groups were consulted to secure feedback on this decision: associate deans, Division of Student Affairs, Graduate Student Organization, Marquette University Student Government, Office of the Registrar, University Academic Senate, University Board of Undergraduate Studies and University Board of Graduate Studies.
