College of Communication starts public service journalism award

The Diederich College of Communication recently announced the new O’Brien Fellowship Award for Impact in Public Service Journalism an honor that will be bestowed as part of the American Society of News Editors annual awards contest.

The award will honor an individual or team whose work helps to solve a community or societal issue, and leads to changes in laws, regulations or other demonstrated results.
