**You need to sign up with Midnight Run through Campus Ministry, first, at volunteer sign-up night at the beginning of the semester, before you can sign up for this placement with us.
Midnight Run sign-up are TBD: right outside the Campus Ministry offices. In order to use Midnight Run as a Service Learning site you must follow the following steps:
1. Register for Service Learning via the link on our homepage. The link will appear on TBD
2. Fill out the entire registration form and print your eventbrite ticket.
3. Attend Midnight Run Sign-up, TBD: Sign up for your site and remember to take your site card from your Midnight Run student coordinator. Once you sign up with Midnight Run you do NOT need to come to Service Learning Sign-up Night.
(**If Midnight Run sign-up is full, then you will have to attend Service Learning Sign-up. If that is the case, arrive to Service Learning Sign-up at the time listed on your eventbrite ticket.)
4. TBD Bring your site card to the Service Learning office to verify your enrollment in Midnight Run and Service Learning.
Address: Various sites including Noon Run, Gesu Parish, Casa Maria, Repairers of the Breach, St. James Gathering, St. Ben's Community Meal, St. Vincent de Paul, Open Gate, and the Campus Town Apartments. (If interested in Guest House, see separate sign-up)
Transportation: Transportation is provided for sites that are off campus by the Midnight Run Van or Public Safety, however many of the sites are within a short walking distance.
Orientation: Varies per site.
Days/Hours of Operation: Various times during the week including weekends. Different agencies offer different times to serve, with opportunities in the morning, in the afternoon, and in the evening.
Description of Agency/Activities: A service program run by MU students through University Ministry. Midnight Run aims to serve meals and work with Milwaukee's hungry and homeless population. It also plans reflections for student volunteers to give them the chance to draw a connection between faith and service.
Student Role in Agency: Help serve meals and interact with people being served. In addition to serving meals, service learners provide companionship to those they serve. Midnight Run volunteers truly see the many faces of homelessness as well as the many issues relating to hunger and homelessness. Through volunteer reflections, service learners, along with other Midnight Run volunteers, are encouraged to draw a connection between faith and service.
"We, as students, share our time, good cheer, and positive energy with those who attend each site. We form friendships, and learn more about the community around us. We engage in conversations and friendly debates and sometimes give words of encouragement or understanding to those who seek it from us. We also form close friendships with the other volunteers whom attend our sites with us."
Commitment: An All-Midnight Run Orientation, two hours a week throughout the semester, periodic All-Midnight Run Reflections during semester.
