A Message From Dr. Jim McMahon

Labor Day weekend Golden Eagles Games Early this past summer, a group of student leaders had an idea for engaging those who remained on campus over Labor Day weekend in a variety of competitive games.

Thanks to the planning and creativity of these students, the first ever Golden Eagle games were staged. Featuring11 events ranging from Flag Football, Basketball and Pool, to Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers, more than 900 students participated in events from Saturday through Monday. In addition, nearly 300 students were in attendance at Eaglefest, enjoying musical performances from various Marquette entertainers.

Many thanks to the following students for making this such a huge success: Co-chairs: Ben Wagner (MA), Nick Reardon (AB) Committee members: Willie Jolly (AB), Rachel Koontz (WS), Allison Schubert (GF Manager), Chris Sabin (VM), Brady Kegly (CO), Kayla Schwieterman (JM), Sean Hegarty (CT), Samuel Streator (Summer Crew), and Zack Henderson (RHA President)

And congratulations to McCormick Hall for winning the championship!

Dr. Jim McMahon,
Associate Vice President and Dean of Residence Life
