The 2014-15 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has been revised to make the form easier to complete and to improve the accuracy of the information provided on the form.  The changes made in collecting and verifying the data may impact when and how you file your federal tax returns, and how you complete the 2014-15 FAFSA.

  • To simplify and expedite the financial aid process, file the 2013 federal tax return early and electronically.
  • Don't forget! File the 2014-15 FAFSA
    • File by February 15 at to meet the March 1 Priority Deadline
    • Don’t Wait, Estimate! Use income estimates if you haven’t filed your 2013 federal tax return.
    • Use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to efficiently update your FAFSA with filed 2013 tax information.

What is Verification? 

Verification is the federal process of verifying or confirming the information provided on the FAFSA is accurate. Roughly 30% of all FAFSAs filed are selected for Verification. Marquette will notify you if your FAFSA has been selected for verification and of the documentation to submit to us.
