Professor Meyler began his career at Marquette in 2005 and has taught courses from US Latino/a Literature and Latin American Film to Latin American Civilization and Culture in the department. Born in Bogotá, Colombia and raised in New Jersey, he has studied at a variety of universities. His research interests include the many genres of US Latino/a culture (in Spanish, English and Spanglish), Latin American visual culture and American popular culture. Dr. Meyler is also a leader in the Freshman Introduction to Inquiry classes where his responsibilities include advising undeclared majors in the college of Arts and Sciences on a weekly basis.
In addition to his professional work, professor Meyler enjoys spending time playing with his two children, Jack and Lucía, roasting his own coffee, walking his dog, Chaplin, and any of the above activities with his wife, Kat, a French instructor at Mt. Mary College.
