Civil engineering major careers and jobs

What can you do with a major in civil engineering? Civil engineers design and build the infrastructure of civilization — highway systems, bridges, skyscrapers, airports, water treatment and distribution systems, and even cities themselves. Civil engineers designed the Chunnel linking England and France, as well as the world's tallest building. They are also involved in the design of high-speed train systems and systems used to restore areas affected by oil or chemical spills. Marquette's major in civil engineering also includes several centers and areas of specialization: structural engineering and structural mechanics, environmental and water resources engineering, transportation engineering and planning, and construction engineering and management.
