DEE FINK: Integrative learning across the curriculum, a national conversation

Dr. Dee Fink, will be on campus to work with faculty on Thursday, Sept. 28. Fink is a nationally recognized leader in higher education, AAC&U fellow, best-selling author, pioneer of higher education curriculum design and award winning teacher.

On Thursday, Sept. 28, at 3:30 p.m. in Wehr Physics 153, Fink, who consulted with Marquette faculty in the early stages of the Core revision, will give a public lecture on current issues around common curricula in the United States, the larger context of Marquette’s new Core and how our students will benefit from integrated learning experiences.

INTRODUCING the Experiential Learning Course Development Seminar: The Center for Teaching & Learning- Service Learning Program, in collaboration with Loyola University- Chicago’s Center for Experiential Learning, is launching a new faculty development program for Loyola’s faculty to build strategies in teaching experiential learning courses. This educational development program provides 8 workshops focused on integrated course design, implementing experiential learning, working with community partners, and facilitating critical reflection.

The CTL invites proposals from faculty interested in developing and teaching an online course. The CTL will provide instructional design and multimedia services as well as financial support ($3,000/faculty) for faculty to design a course.

No prior experience with online design or online instruction is required. Faculty interested in applying should complete this form and email it to Dr. María Parés-Toral by October 9th, 2017.
