Required Training for Faculty and Staff

Marquette University is committed to providing an excellent educational, working and living environment free from sexual harassment, discrimination and sexual misconduct for all students, faculty, staff and guests.

It is imperative that Marquette community members are prepared to respond quickly when a person who has experienced sexual harassment, discrimination or sexual misconduct comes to them for help. Education and training will not only reinforce the university’s policy but will aid in our prevention efforts.

The Office for Civil Rights and Marquette University requires yearly training for all university employees, including all faculty and staff, adjunct faculty and part-time staff. Marquette University has partnered with EVERFI, whose mission is to help students address critical life skills such as alcohol abuse prevention, sexual assault prevention, and financial literacy in higher education institutions across the country. Each year over 5 million students and employees complete these courses.

As part of our comprehensive prevention program for faculty and staff, Marquette University expects staff and faculty to complete Haven for Faculty & Staff. This online education will cover sexual harassment, discrimination, sexual misconduct and the SaVE Act, as well as reporting responsibilities.  To ensure participation, completion of the training will be tracked as well as appropriate follow-up if needed.

Haven for Faculty and Staff will be available starting March 5, 2018.
