The Service Learning Program invites you to save the date for our annual Community Partner Roundtable on April 14, 2014 from 2:30-4:00pm.
The Center for Teaching and Learning would like to thank those who joined us for this year’s Community and Faculty Roundtable where we explored how we can work in campus and community teams to address issues that impact our educational system in Milwaukee. The Service Learning Program hosted its annual Community Partner and Faculty Roundtable Luncheon on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in the AMU Room 163.
Each table at the event focused on a different topic in education, including but not limited to, topics of childhood literacy, adult education, violence, bullying, poverty, school policy and reform, school nutrition, college readiness, and college access. Our goal is to put the right people, in the right place, at the right time in order to cultivate mutually-beneficial collaborations. Together we explored how service learning, community-based research, and other forms of community engagement can provide a vehicle for working toward change.
Funding resources will also be available to teams of faculty and community partners interested in collaborating on meaningful projects. We thank those who joined us for this conversation that made positive change in Milwaukee.
Thanks to the more than 50 participants that attended this year's Community Partner and Faculty Roundtable. We look forward to the partnerships and community-based research to come.
