Description of Agency/Activities: Windlake Academy is the 4th – 8th grade campus of Seeds of Health Elementary, which opened in 1996. We are a public charter school authorized by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Our caring, empathetic staff works to address every child’s needs taking into account each child’s specific interests, learning style and talents. Windlake Academy’s highly trained and state certified teachers provide well-rounded instruction in reading, math, language arts, science, social studies, physical education and music. Students use a variety of technology every day to enhance their learning experience. We are a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) school offering hands-on science, technology, engineering and math instruction. In addition, the curriculum focuses on social and emotional development as well as the skills needed to prepare students for lifelong learning. Windlake Academy’s staff specializes in providing the unique, fundamental support necessary for children living in an urban environment.
