Description of Agency/Activities: The Boys and Girls Club is a youth guidance organization offering positive and safe activities for children ages 6 - 18. The Boys and Girls Clubs exist to inspire and empower all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

Student Role in Agency: The service learner is a role model for club members. The Boys and Girls Clubs are stressing homework help this semester. Service Learners will go to the site on a weekly basis and hang out with the kids and help them with reading or homework. You may also choose to work in the computer lab, art room, indoor games room, homework help, or play in the full-sized gym.

Commitment: An orientation is required before service can begin. You do not need to attend the orientation if you have previously done service learning at the Boys and Girls Club and are already oriented. A volunteer application, background check, and TB test must also be completed before beginning service.
