April is Sexual Violence Awareness Month

In a recent letter to the Marquette community, President Scott R. Pilarz, S.J., highlighted that April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. During the past few years, Marquette has made a concerted effort to grow its efforts to prevent sexual violence, expressing our commitment to being a community that cares for and watches out for each other. Please view this video for a closer look at this important, ongoing work.

This month will feature lectures and awareness-building efforts on campus while offering the campus a fresh opportunity to focus on education and prevention efforts that continue throughout the year. These events will include Denim Day, Wednesday, April 24, an annual international effort to support survivors of sexual violence and to help create a global change in attitudes towards sexual assault.
