Marquette Online Course Evaluation System (MOCES)

Each semester, students have the opportunity to provide feedback about their courses and instructors through the Marquette Online Course Evaluation System (MOCES). Marquette uses the results of the evaluations to improve the quality of teaching and learning. The information is also used in the faculty promotion and tenure process. The Office of Institutional Research and Analysis manages the course evaluation process on behalf of the university.

Preparing for the Evaluation

Viewing Results in MOCES

Instructors will receive an email notifying them when results are available. The email is usually sent in the afternoon the day after grades are due. Instructors with missing grades are locked out of the course evaluation system until all grades have been submitted. The results include the numerical summary of each question in addition to student comments.

Viewing Results in Faculty Success for Promotion and Tenure

All faculty with a Faculty Success account can run the "Instructor Profile (MOCES) - Promotion and Tenure" in Faculty Success to see the combined core item median and comparison statistics. The results for the most recent semester are typically available in Faculty Success two weeks after final grades are due.
