Wisconsin Minority Retention Grant

Eligibility criteria

  1. Resident of Wisconsin as determined by State of Wisconsin Higher Educational Aids Board (HEAB)
  2. Undergraduate with a minimum of sophomore standing
  3. A minority student as defined by state statute (African-American, Hispanic, Native American Indian, or Southeast Asian from Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, or identified as Hmong)
  4. Must demonstrate financial need
  5. Enrolled at least half-time
  6. Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress

Amounts and selection process

Grants range from $250 to $2,500 per academic year based on available funding. The state of Wisconsin funds the program. Marquette selects eligible applicants and determines the amount of each student's grant.

Renewal process

Grant is renewed when application is complete and eligibility requirements are met while funding is still available. Grants can be received for a maximum of 8 terms.
