The university may provide an employee an unpaid leave of absence, up to but not exceeding 12 months, for personal reasons. Such a request must be for a specific period of time, be accompanied by a letter of explanation, and may or may not be approved by the university, depending upon the operational needs of the department.
Apply for a Personal Leave
- Give at least 30 days notice for your department to make accommodations to be the least disruptive as possible to their operational needs.
- Give at least 30 days notice to Employee Benefits by completing a Leave of Absence Request Form and writing a statement why you are requesting a personal leave.
