Although it is one of the oldest disciplines of engineering, mechanical engineering is constantly changing with innovative advances in technology.  Especially in the areas of biotechnology, material science and nanotechnology, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects more job opportunities to open up for mechanical engineers in the coming years. In fact, it projects a 10 percent employment increase through 2033.

As a mechanical engineering major at Marquette, you'll gain practical work experience through our Co-op Program, which will set you apart when it comes time to find a job after graduation. About 95 percent of our mechanical engineering majors are working as design engineers or manufacturing engineers within six months of graduation.
