Marquette welcomes chaperoned groups to visit campus. The information presented below is a guide for chaperones and tour organizers. We offer tour group appointments on select Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9 or 10 a.m. throughout the year. Visits last approximately one hour.
Please note that our office is closed to group visits on June 1, 15, and 22 due to campus events.
Please contact us at least three weeks before your visit. We will do our best to accommodate your selected Wednesday or Thursday. However, because of campus events and staffing limitations, we may need to consider alternate dates. Most visits last between two and three hours.
Group visit appointments are not available on weekends or in the months of April or July. No exceptions are made.
Join a Marquette admissions counselor for a formal presentation about the university, our history, our programs of study, and admission and financial aid procedures. Time will be available for general questions.
A current Marquette student will lead the group on a tour of campus. Tour highlights include the Raynor Memorial Libraries, St. Joan of Arc Chapel, a classroom, the Alumni Memorial Union, and the Rec Center. Building access is subject to change because of special events, holidays or operating hours.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate special visit requests, including meals (groups may purchase lunch in the Union); special facility tours (e.g., the Al McGuire Center or gross anatomy lab); Spirit Shop discounts; overnight accommodations; or transportation to and from campus.
If you have to cancel your visit to campus, kindly provide at least three days notice by contacting the Admissions Office at (414) 288-7302 or email@example.com. Scheduled groups that do not provide notice may be limited in future campus visits.
Our campus visit program is designed for high school students, especially for juniors, seniors and college transfer students. Though we appreciate that there are a great number of programs designed to introduce younger students to college, we are unable to accommodate groups or special programs that do not represent high school students, college students or students in this age group. We have found that the best way to prepare elementary and middle school students for attending college is by working to provide a solid academic foundation upon which to draw in the future.
We require groups to provide one adult chaperone for every 15 students coming to campus. Chaperones are responsible for maintaining the good behavior of the students they are bringing to campus. Please ensure that your group shows respect for the university, students, faculty and staff. Disruptive groups will be asked to leave campus early.
Campus tours involve walking throughout our 90-acre campus and are conducted regardless of the weather. Please encourage your group to dress accordingly, and wear comfortable clothing and shoes. As one of the nation’s leading colleges, we are passionate about free exercise of thought and communication. However, at our sole discretion, offensive and disrespectful clothing choices will result in a participant being asked to remove any offending items.
Please know that our schedule is quite full. Late arrivals will result in a modification of your tour and/or presentation. If you anticipate being late, please call the admissions office as soon as possible to determine how we may be able to best accommodate your group.
