Ignacio Ellacuría, S.J. Dreamers Scholarship

The Ignacio Ellacuría, S.J. Dreamers Scholarship is named after Jesuit martyr and former president/rector of the Universidad Centroamericana "José Simeón Cañas" (UCA), one of the most prominent universities in Central America. Ellacuría made significant contributions to “Liberation Philosophy” in Latin America.The scholarship provides partial need-based scholarships to full-time Marquette students who are ineligible for federal financial aid. The award is renewable each semester of the recipient's four-year (eight semester) undergraduate program provided the recipient remains in good academic standing with his or her respective college.

Selection Guidelines

You are eligible for this scholarship and automatically considered if you:

  • Are a high school senior who is ineligible to apply for federal financial aid
  • Have been accepted and have committed to enrolling full-time in a bachelor's degree program at Marquette University 
  • Have significant unmet financial need
  • Return all required financial aid documents by May 1
  • International students are not eligible for this scholarship.
