Student Support Services (SSS) was established at Marquette University in 1969 to provide an opportunity for students from minority groups and low-income families to attend Marquette University.

Students selected to enter SSS need not meet traditional college admission requirements but must show potential for success at Marquette. The program provides a network of supportive services designed to increase the probability that each student will succeed. Support services include need-based financial aid, a pre-Freshman year summer program, academic counseling, and career counseling.
