The news of Fr. Pilarz’s resignation no doubt came as a surprise to the entire Marquette community. I am grateful for his service to our students and making them the priority in his decisions. It is with this same sense of purpose that we do the work we do.

While Fr. Pilarz’s decision may arouse feelings of uncertainty, I am confident that the Board of Trustees will conduct their search for a new president with students’ intellectual, physical, spiritual, emotional, and social development at the heart of their efforts. This is the work you all engage in daily, and we will continue in our work as student affairs professionals, serving students, in this interim time and onward.

I am extremely grateful for and proud of the work you all do. I see care for the whole person in all your efforts. Your work is the difference, and I encourage you all to continue to be the difference for our students and entire community.
