At the height of yellow journalism one hundred years ago, John Copus, a former journalist turned Jesuit priest, decided that Marquette University’s urban campus in Milwaukee would be the perfect place to start the first journalism program at any Catholic university in the world.

During the 2010–2011 academic year, the Diederich College of Communication celebrated the centennial of journalism education at Marquette. To commemorate this milestone, we hosted a series of exciting events and guest speakers over the Centennial year.
