Thanks to the help of MU alum Marcus Lemonis (of “The Profit” on CNBC) and 2700 other generous contributors, the Student-Run Business Program (SRB) is launching in spring 2018.

Based in the College of Business Administration, the SRB program offers unique opportunities for students throughout the university to:

  • Gain leadership experience

  • Learn business acumen

  • Apply your knowledge

  • Run businesses

  • And break the bubble that separates students from the world around you

About the Student Run Business Program:

From coffeeshops to newspapers, hotels to online bookings, brick and mortar to moonshots, and tiny farms to $10mil ventures, Student Run Business programs have offered students a chance to work together, create an impact and develop leadership skills for over 100 years.

Now’s your chance to help us build an SRB program at Marquette.

The MU SRB program was officially formed in December 2017 and will launch with its first set of businesses in late April, 2018.

In addition to providing all MU students with business leadership and experiential learning opportunities, the program prioritizes community engagement opportunities that help students engage the greater Milwaukee area.

Upcoming Event: LaunchMU - (March 2nd, 2018)

Have an idea for the next Student Run Business? We provide funding and support to make it last a lifetime (or to go down quick in the flames it deserves). But first you need a team and a viable business model.

No big ideas but want to get involved with a new SRB? We help you form and join teams to get good student-run businesses off the ground.

Our LaunchMU event provides opportunities to hear great ideas from students, faculty, staff and community leaders; the event also provides a chance to improve ideas, to form teams around those big ideas, and to pair teams with mentors to pitch for official funding and support during our SRB Demo Day (March 10, 2018).

So if you have a big idea or have nothing at all, come to LaunchMU to get involved.

Be a Leader Now

Right now, we’re forming the Found Student Board of Advisors (FSBOA) and we need you.

Students from any college, major and level of experience are welcome to apply. What matters is that you care to make a difference and that you can prove you’re ability to do it. The FSBOA is a paid fellowship of student leaders who will build the program, judge new venture applications, and select then fund the very first set of Marquette SRB’s.
