Marquette Club of Northern California Volunteer Opportunities

Marquette University may be miles away, but you still can stay connected to your alma mater in a number of ways. The Marquette Club of Northern California is looking for volunteers to help in the following areas:

Event Coordinators*

National Marquette Day Game-watching Party Coordinators

Each year we look for coordinators to help choose a venue that is broadcasting the game — one that will be a great place to gather and cheer for the Golden Eagles. Given the large geographic area the club spans, multiple game-watching parties could be hosted.

The Marquette Alumni Engagement office will help with promotion of the event. Volunteers will secure venues and help staff events on the day of the game.

General Event Coordinators

The opportunities are endless for events in your area. These coordinators ensure events hosted by the club run smoothly. Events vary throughout the year and specific roles for each event will differ but may include helping to drive attendance for events, staffing the events day of (managing the sign-in table, assisting with raffles, etc.), and coordinating logistics leading up to the event. Possible event ideas include:

- Wine-tasting events
- Service day events
- Mass and brunch events
- Sporting events (hockey, baseball, etc.)
- Cable car caroling
- Other events your region has to offer

The Marquette Alumni Engagement office will help with promotion of the event. Event coordinators are needed in the following areas:

- East Bay
- South Bay
- San Francisco
- North Bay
- Sacramento

Admissions Volunteers

These volunteers assist with calling potential students and staffing college fairs. Duties may also include hosting yield events, assisting with summer send-offs and general admissions efforts. The time commitment can be as little or as much as you are willing to offer. Sign up online as an admissions volunteer.

Summer Send-off Hosts

Summer Send-offs are gatherings of Marquette alumni, incoming freshmen and their parents. Send-offs are opportunities for us to welcome incoming freshmen to the Marquette family! They typically take place in July or early August. Hosts provide the location for the event. It may be their home, a local park or restaurant, and can incorporate other alumni bringing a dish to pass, ordering pizza, having a cookout, or serving dessert and punch. The location for the send-off is typically based on the geographic area incoming students live. Hosts also help call incoming students to encourage their attendance and track responses for the event.
